A glimpse of Ley Lines
The Ley Lines (レイライン Rei rain)[1][2] are a series of supernatural networks that served both as magic users' source of power and means to quickly travel between places connected by the same network.
Description
Being the remains of the branches of the World Tree Yggdrasil, ley lines are the source of all the magical energies of the planet which flow through them reaching everywhere since ancient times. Usually, a magic user can only take advantage of a limited amount of such energy, but if it is stored within a special object such as the Sorcerer's Stone, the power can be exploited in an unlimited way.
The ley lines are located in specific places of the world and several important buildings and places, like Luna Nova Magical Academy, are constructed on them. A witch can access the Ley Line Network through a Ley Line Terminal, being able to fly through them with a Magic Broom. That way, witches can use the Ley Line network to go to any place that is connected to a ley line.
For unspecified reasons, sodium causes the ley lines to become very unstable.[1]
Ley Line Portal and Terminal
Ley Line Portal is a dimensional rift through which one can enter ley lines as means of transportation across vast distances, appearing as a huge, fiery emerald ring with white, green, and purple interiors along with darker root-like patterns.
There are two known methods for opening the rift; one with powerful spells such as Shiny Arc and another is Ley Line Terminal. The latter method is much more widespread since the former requires a considerable amount of power and the rift only opens momentarily. Once established, the ley line terminal can open the rift whenever the user wished to as well as determining its destination provided it is connected with another terminal. In addition to ones that appeared as branches intertwined into a massive ring to contain the rift, other variations of Ley Line Terminals exist, such as one within Glastonbury Tor and the archway-like one used by Paul Hanbridge, his son, and Frank which was designed so they can enter it with their cars.

- The ley lines can be forcefully deactivated with the router installed within Noir Rod.
- Being part of Yggdrasil which overlaps spaces and dimensions as much as holding celestial bodies in place, one can travel between realms via. Ley Lines (nine of which are most well-known in Norse Cosmology which includes Midgard/Earth), something which would likely be explored in future installments of the series.[3][4]
