Hello and welcome broom relay fan all over the world! This is Luna Nova News network's special report. The stage is set and all the riders have gathered for an epic showdown!

—Wangari presents LNN's report on 1333th Luna Nova Cup as well as her first line in "Don't Stop Me Now"

Wangari (ワンガリ Wangari?) is a character in Little Witch Academia. She is a student at Luna Nova Magical Academy and a member of the Luna Nova News Network.

Appearance

Wangari is a teenage girl of slightly above-average height. She has spiky orange hair that sticks up to the top, brown eyes and dark skin complexion. She has red, slim and elliptical markings under her eyes. Wangari, along with her roommates Joanna and Kimberly, wears a yellow sash-belt and matching hatband to go with their Luna Nova uniform.

Personality

She is very enthusiastic and boisterous, as she was very excited when narrating the broom relay race.[3] She is also quite extroverted, loudly announcing events like the Luna Nova Cup, the Samhain Festival, and the arrival of Croix Meridies.

Plot

Background

Not much is known about Wangari's background until this point, only that she was born into a magical family who lived somewhere in Kenya, Africa. Her family eventually sent her to Luna Nova Academy in order to learn magic. There, she befriended her roommates Joanna and Kimberly where together, the founded Luna Nova News network club.

TV Series

Don't Stop Me Now

She is first shown excitedly reviewing the broom relay race's participants. She later acts as the announcer during the broom relay race.

What You Will

Wangari distributes the newspapers of the academy's announcements to the special guests of the upcoming Samhain Festival.

Samhain Magic

Wangari once again acts an announcer, narrating the events of the festival. She is especially excited during Akko and her friends' special presentation. After all presentations were over, Wangari is shown to be happy that Diana won the title of the Moonlit Witch, however, she also stated that what Akko, Sucy, and Lotte did was incredible, even if they were disqualified.

New Age Magic

Wangari is seen standing next to the rest of Luna Nova's staff, watching the faerie spirits put panel isolators to block the Sorcerer's Stone, as she announces everything as if it were an event. When Croix and her Sorcery Units appear to save her, Akko and a few other students from being damaged by a falling isolator, she happily announces Croix's arrival. At the end of the episode, she and the rest of her team do an interview with Croix and report it in the newspaper Luna Nova.

Tree of Leaves

Wangari appears next to the other students of Luna Nova giving their Fuel Spirit to Akko and Diana during their battle against the Noir Rod missile.

Relationships

Atsuko Kagari

Wangari is shown to get along with Akko very well as confirmed in Chamber of Time game with her addressing the latter as 'Froggy' (alluding Akko's use of Frog Leg Juice Potion on her broom in order to hop around), much to the Japanese witch's chagrin. As shown in her Sub Events, Everyday Scoop and Wangari Ahoy!, Wangari appreciated Akko's help in finding intriguing stories for the school's newspaper and finding her missing pen respectively.

Amanda O'Neill

Wangari seemed to admire Amanda somewhat for her remarkable yet unorthodox broom flight style. This is shown when she interviews the young O'Neill prior to the race.

Diana Cavendish

Much like the other students at Luna Nova, she is shown to admire Diana, running towards her to interview her before the broom relay race started.

Joanna and Kimberly

Though their relationship has yet to be fully explored, it can be assumed that Wangari gets along with Joanna and Kimberly very well.

Abilities and Equipment

Though the full-extent of her magical skills has yet to be fully explored, it can be inferred that Wangari is a witch with average talent as with many of her peers, knowing how to use Magic Broom and cast spells with her wand. She also displayed decent knowledge pertaining Magic Brooms as well as tricks one can perform with it, if her surprised reaction in seeing Akko who hops around with her own broom that had been bewitched with Frog Leg Juice Potion was any indication.
